Jakarta – Thousands of village clerics from various Islamic boarding schools in Banyuwangi have shown their strong support for the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 02, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, with a strong commitment to win them in a single round in the 2024 Presidential Election. These events of fellowship and declaration of support affirm their loyalty to the pair.
One of the largest fellowship events took place at Pondok Pesantren Ibnu Sina, Genteng, Banyuwangi, on Wednesday (10/1/2024), attended by more than a thousand village clerics. The event was titled “National Fellowship of Village Clerics with Gibran Rakabuming Raka” and served as an important momentum in solidifying support for Prabowo-Gibran.
According to Kiai Masykur Ali, the supervisor of Ibnu Sina Islamic Boarding School, the victory of Prabowo-Gibran in Banyuwangi will be a reflection of victory for the entire Indonesia.
“Prabowo-Gibran will definitely win. Win in one round. Prabowo-Gibran will definitely win,” said Kiai Masykur, greeted by enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Kiai Masykur also emphasized the importance of the Permanent Fund for Islamic Boarding Schools program promised by the Prabowo-Gibran pair.
“If Mas Gibran becomes the Vice President, he will carry out the mandate of the law, which is the Permanent Fund for Islamic Boarding Schools,” he said, greeted with enthusiasm by the audience.
Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the vice presidential candidate number 02, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the clerics. He stated the importance of the role of Islamic boarding schools in preparing Indonesia’s golden generation.
“We want Islamic students to be experts in the fields of AI, IoT, Islamic banking, and fields needed by the industry,” said Gibran.
In addition, a declaration of support was also held at Pondok Pesantren Jagat Solawat, Krajan Bagorejo Village, Srono District, attended by a number of prominent clerics and religious figures from Banyuwangi. They reaffirmed their commitment to winning Prabowo-Gibran and conducting elections without black campaigns.
Wahyu Dwi Hermawan, Coordinator of Team 02 Banyuwangi, stated that the Team 02 volunteers are ready to win the votes and ensure the victory of Prabowo-Gibran in Banyuwangi.
“We have prepared teams to reach every corner of the village to convince people that Mr. Prabowo and Mas Gibran will win convincingly,” he said.
This declaration is also a manifestation of efforts to maintain peaceful elections without black campaigns, as desired by the religious figures and village clerics in Banyuwangi.
