Her life has taken a new turn as she now works at the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Cempedak Lobang, Sei Rampah, Serdang Bedagai, just a short distance from her home. Expressing her gratitude towards the President for the positive impact of the program on her daily life, Aslina’s emotions were palpable as she shared her story.
This impactful visit happened on a Wednesday, where Hasan Nasbi, Head of the Presidential Communication Office, North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution, and other regional leaders visited Aslina’s workplace. Previously a homemaker with no income, Aslina’s participation in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program has provided her with a meaningful opportunity to contribute by preparing healthy meals for local schoolchildren.
Normawati, also known as Norma, has had a similar life-changing experience. With added income to support her family, Norma is now able to help her husband while being close to home. This program not only benefits housewives like Aslina and Norma but also empowers women like Shinta Ramadana, a 21-year-old who previously faced unemployment. Now, Shinta is actively involved in food preparation, demonstrating enthusiasm in her work.
The MBG Program has impacted the lives of thousands of women, providing employment opportunities through 2,378 SPPG units nationwide.
