by -23 Views

Ministers from the Red and White Cabinet convened at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta to address the plight of PT Sritex employees who had been laid off. The meeting, led by Prabowo, focused on finding solutions for the affected workers. The attendees, including Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and PT Sritex Curator Nurma Sadikin, discussed the urgency of resolving issues following the company’s bankruptcy declaration in October 2024. The main aim is to rehire approximately 8,000 employees under a new working scheme in the textile sector. Minister Yassierli lauded the curator’s efforts in potentially rehiring former Sritex employees within the next two weeks.

With Prabowo’s commitment to providing support and guidance, relief is anticipated for PT Sritex employees impacted by the layoffs. The Ministry of Manpower is actively ensuring that PT Sritex Group workers receive their layoff compensation and other normative rights. The PT Sritex Curator Team is currently selecting investors to manage Sritex’s assets under a new scheme, ultimately leading to the reemployment of the laid-off workers. This strategic step aims to bring stability to the affected employees and provide a viable solution to their current situation.
