Dito Ariotedjo, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed his appreciation for the generous support for the development of young Indonesian athletes during a meeting with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Senayan, Central Jakarta. He specifically mentioned the contribution from Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, who has provided scholarships to U20 athletes for education at the Aspire Academy in Qatar.
The Minister clarified that this initiative is not tied to any political campaigns, but is a gesture of gratitude towards individuals who contribute to the development of sports achievements in Indonesia. He emphasized that there are many good people in Indonesia who are dedicated to helping the younger generation excel in sports.
In addition to expressing his gratitude, Minister Dito also highlighted the importance of improving the quality and competence of national athletes, and requested further budget support for this purpose. He also conveyed the government’s plans to enhance the naturalization process for athletes, with the goal of ensuring that naturalization is granted only to those with genuine Indonesian descent.
